Cinema dealer certification program with Dirac Live® unveiled

Datasat Digital Entertainment (formerly DTS Digital Cinema) introduced the AP20 and unveiled a dealer certification program for the 16-channel audio processor this morning at ShoWest.

“With a product as feature-rich as the AP20, a certification program like the one we have developed assures each and every theater will be tuned to the highest quality possible and soundtracks will sound as they were originally designed,” stated Dusty Thomas, Vice President of Sales at Datasat Digital Entertainment.

Certification will involve technical training of the audio processor’s many features including Dirac Live® Room Optimization, a technology new to the cinema space. This certification mirrors that which is required for a majority of digital cinema enhancements.

“Audio cannot be left stagnate in this pivotal time in our industry’s advancements,” Thomas said. “This processor and supporting certification programs greatly advance the audio options available to the cinema environment.”

First sessions of the dealer certification program will begin late April. Product demos will be conducted at the Datasat Digital Entertainment Booth (Palace #4) for the remainder of ShoWest.
